Welcome to my Breastfeed LA Fundraising Page. I am fundraising towards my CLE Level II Lactation Educator.
Would you like to know why Lactation Education is important to me? Before I do that, I need to tell you about my doula journey. 2015 marked a before and after in my life. That is the year that I became a mother and said goodbye to my baby too soon. After my own experience of motherhood and loss I developed a passion to help other families during their pregnancy and postpartum journeys. The more I learned about Postpartum and Babies, the more I realized I needed to grow my knowledge regarding lactation so I could better support my postpartum clients. New parents need to walk into their birth and feeding experience feeling safe, understood, and listened to. As a lactation educator, I can assist them before and after the baby arrives, giving them the tools to prepare for their lactation experience and supporting them with education after the baby comes.
You see, I have always wanted to study Lactation in depth, even train as a Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, but I thought that was a dream too far to reach. Back in August I did my first fundraiser, and I was honored to have many friends supporting my lactation education journey. That allowed me to complete my Level I Lactation Education Specialist Course with Breastfeed LA this Fall. While I was completing Level I, I developed a huge passion for Lactation and for supporting families in this field. During training, I felt the secret door open, and I saw a clear path in front of me. Yes, I can continue to Level II and from there work towards the Breastfeeding Board certification.
By completing Level II CLE (Lactation education) with Breastfeed LA, I will have 90 hours of training, become more experienced with lactation education, and help more families in their feeding process. Families in my community need to have their questions answered and resources provided for them, whether their breastfeeding journey goes smoothly or requires more support. I want to be there for bilingual and English-speaking families, providing a supportive and encouraging environment where they can make the best decisions for their baby and family.
You can join me in this beautiful mission. Please help support my training journey with Breastfeed LA. Thank you.
